A graduate of the University of Texas-Pan American, Ruben joined Long Chilton in 1973 and received his CPA certification in 1979. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Mission Economic Development Authority, and board member of the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce. He is active in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in which he serves on the Finance Committee.
